Throughout the month of October, our Cancer Difference Makers series honored 30 individuals who we believe are making a tangible impact on the cancer community at large. On behalf of everyone at Cordata, we would like to thank each and every one of our Cancer Difference Makers for the incredible work that they do to advance the study and treatment of the disease. From breast surgeons and genomic researchers to nonprofit CEOs and patient advocates, these individuals inspire the work we do, united in their determination to one day see a world without cancer.
We know that working in oncology is not easy. It is an ever-changing field, and these individuals are some of those leading the charge in developing innovative technologies, treatments and research methods that are improving the quality of life for survivors around the world. There is still plenty of work to be done, though. In fact, the NIH estimates that by the end of 2016, there will have been 1,685,210 new cases of cancer in the United States alone.
But there are also more survivors now than ever before, thanks to the efforts of countless people working every day to lessen cancer’s impact on all those affected by it. So, even though our official series has ended, we want to open the floor for you to nominate other Cancer Difference Makers that you believe deserve recognition for their work. If you would like to nominate someone, please reach out and let us know at email@example.com. Physicians, advocates, caregivers – no matter how they are making a difference, we want to know about them. We look forward to hearing their stories.
