Cancer management systems go well beyond the electronic medical record (EMR), and are designed to support clinical quality while reducing costs. Many entities, including insurance companies, hospitals, oncology networks, and some oncology practices, are developing and/or using these models, which come in a variety of formats, including computer software and Web-based programs like Cordata Oncology. The systems sometimes focus on one area, such as prescribed chemo regimes compared to guidelines, or provide guidance on all aspects of treatment via clinical pathways.
As the Cordata team is working on a next generation product of Oncology OnTrack, the development team is looking at how to bring the navigation product into the future along with the cutting-edge analytics to support operational management key performance indicator access by service line leaders, accreditation-ready reports for CoC or NAPBC or JCAHO survey, etc. The next generation product is projected for early 2015.
