The 3 Essential Reports Your Cancer Center Needs

There are three categories of reports that cancer centers should review on a monthly basis: accreditation, operational and financial. Cancer centers with navigation programs often find it easiest to produce accreditation reports; however, operational and financial reports are just as critical to running a successful cancer program. Cancer centers that effectively create each of these reports will find it easier to: justify new hires, understand the inefficiencies within their programs and achieve necessary accreditations. All of this leads to quality patient care.

Survivorship care plans are recommended for oncology patients to ensure that patients are not “lost” in the system, in between different providers as they pass from one stage of cancer care to another. However, it can be hard to track down the exact information that should be included in a survivorship care plan.  The Commission on Cancer’s “ Cancer Program Standards 2012: Ensuring Patient-Centered Care lays out the CoC requirements for survivorship.”
