Introducing

Today, nearly half a million children are in protective custody and at high risk of suffering from emotional
behavioralmedical, and dental problems.

Case managers store administrative records in the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System

EHR

SACWIS

The two systems do not connect with each other.

Therefore, pediatricians oftentimes don't know if their patient is in protective custody and case managers don't have the healthcare information needed for proper care coordination.

Healthcare providers store healthcare records in the hospital's Electronic Health Record

Caseworkers are provided with quicker, more comprehensive access to children’s health history, assisting them with case planning, school enrollment, and compliance with child welfare requirements.

Medical providers are able to accurately identify children in custody and provide more comprehensive and coordinated healthcare.

"It is very easy to use. It is user friendly and easy to navigate."

"It has made getting information smoother and easier."

"It has been very helpful to know the CHECK Clinic information."

"It’s nice that it’s just one system that we can go into to access everything."

"It has added a positive outcome to our productivity."

IDENTITY originated with a team of researchers and physicians at Cincinnati Children’s who developed a proprietary deterministic matching technology to ensure timely synchronization of each child’s information.

The SaaS application displays up-to-date health information extracted near-real time from the electronic health record and matched with child welfare information from the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System. Critical information is available to caseworkers and healthcare providers to address the healthcare and psychosocial needs of children in foster care.
