Alexandria, VA – December 15, 2017: Appian360 Healthcare Innovations, LLC (“Appian360”) and Northern Ohio Regional Cancer Center, LLC (“NORCC”) announced today a new clinical partnership to implement Appian360’s patient-centered oncology care platform, which provides clinical algorithms designed to improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce overall costs. The combination of Appian360’s outcome-focused clinical pathway development and Cordata’s robust care coordination platform will also facilitate better patient management and increase patient engagement.

“With Appian360’s Algorithm Generator™, oncology care teams can now create standardized diagnostic and other pathways informed by current standards and evidence-based knowledge,” noted Robert Bridwell, MD, MBA, Appian360’s Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer. “Early, accurate, and comprehensive diagnosis is the bedrock of effective care for people with cancer. Essentially, the combination of clinical algorithms and care coordination can promote better outcomes for both patients and providers.”

NORCC will be able to take advantage of platform enhancements, such as Care Maps, which provide a longitudinal view of care over time, and AcuSym™, a system to manage disease-specific symptoms. Additional features are designed to address co-morbidities with severity/acuity indexing at diagnosis, use analytics to proactively monitor patient status and satisfaction and measure care outcomes.

“We are pleased to provide NORCC with a cancer care platform that enables patients to receive comprehensive clinical coordination and participate more actively in their care,” said Stan Grice, Co-Founder, CEO and President of Appian360. “Our solution helps ensure patients are engaged and motivated to stick to treatment plans, take the right steps at the right time along their care paths, and navigate the unique challenges of oncology care, from screening to survivorship.”

“As a leader in regional cancer care, we are excited to provide our patients with a single platform where NORCC clinical staff can better manage the complex care involved with treating patients with cancer,” said Jon Prescott, MD, Medical Director of Northern Ohio Regional Cancer Care. “The first of its kind in Northern Ohio, this solution will allow our clinical staff to standardize care pathways to quickly identify and manage at-risk patients, empower our care team to implement and track care plans, engage patients in care management and provide improved communication with patients and their families.”

“We are pleased to be a part of Appian’s ground-breaking technology in cancer treatment and applaud NORCC for being an early adopter of this critical capability,” said Gary Winzenread, CEO of Cordata. “Our partnership with Appian360 will allow NORCC and other oncology groups improve clinical and financial outcomes in the near term and chart a successful course to value-based care in the long term.”
